Strange as it may seem many of the lines on our faces are created not by the effects of the sun or the years, but rather the actions of the muscles around the forehead and around the eyes ( crows feet). Some of the deepest furrows of the face can be due to the action of the underlying muscles. Sometimes these lines can be simply annoying or can come to dominate the appearance of the face.

A course of localised injections of specially designed muscle relaxant, specifically designed to be introduced into the local muscle over the face can give a reduction to these distressful lines.

Anti Wrinkle Treatments 

Injectable fillers

Our selection of fillers can help fill in, plump up, forehead lines, frown lines, crow’s feet, Nasolabial folds along with sunken areas of the cheeks (volume loss) leaving you with a smoother more youthful skin. Fillers are made from a natural complex sugar called Hyaluronic Acid.  HA is found naturally within the tissues of living cells and assists in skin hydration.

Wrinkle relaxing injections

A natural purified protein (botulinum toxin type A) that relaxes wrinkle-causing muscles, creating a more youthful appearance.

These injections are used to relax specific facial muscles that cause expression lines.  Once the muscles are relaxed, you cannot contract them and continue to make the undesirable facial expressions.  The wrinkles gradually smooth and new lines are prevented from forming.

Erbium Facial Laser resurfacing

Normal ageing, sun damage and smoking all contribute to the lines on faces. When these are not successfully treated long term with other methods laser resurfacing can be of benefit. A laser is used to remove the top layers of skin under local anaesthetic, which requires about 10 days off work. The skin is smoother and continues to improve for up to 6 months. The pink or reddish colour can take some time to settle. Whilst it does have a significant recovery time and some risks are associated with this technique, it still produces the best results for acne scarring and sun damaged skin.
